Many people who were not baptised as infants choose to join the Catholic Church at a later stage in life . These people are normally asked to join the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) programme; the full course normally takes about a year. Please see one of the priests.
The blessing of houses is a traditional practice requested by Catholics usually when they first move into a new home to bring God’s presence and goodness. Please contact one of the priests to make arrangements.
Although we are disturbed by death Catholics do not believe it is the end. Through our baptism we hope to follow Christ into the new life of heaven. When someone dies a priest should be notified as soon as possible so that the he may meet with the family of the deceased and begin making arrangements for the funeral.
A Gift Aid Declaration is a statement that you wish a charity to recover tax that you have already paid and that you cannot get back yourself. Everyone who pays income tax or capital gains tax can sign a Gift Aid Declaration. The parish of St. Dominic’s is part of the Archdiocese of Glasgow which is a registered charity. This means the parish can reclaim tax paid when a Gift Aid Declaration has been made, which generates extra income for the parish at no additional cost to the parishioner. To make a Gift Aid Declaration all you need to do is fill in a simple form, please see one of the priests.
